Rockland Bridge 1981-2000
A series of panoramic views documenting the changing face of a site over a fifteen year period. A longtime interest of mine is the transient way in which man and nature intersect, and the underlying message of man’s subserviance to nature. The Rockland Bridge series reflects on the history and poetics of a single location over a period of years. A single image whose components are arrived to by time. The notorious tides of the Bay of Fundy contributed to the Bridge's demise in 1978. In its day the Rockland Bridge was the second longest covered bridge in New Brunswick.
